A note from our Pastor.

Dear Brothers and Sisters from Frederick, Maryland to all over the world, welcome to Asbury Church.  We are honored to have you visit our website and want you to know our home is your home.  This website is especially designed with you in mind.  As you join us, may something you read, see and hear speak to your heart about the great truth that the Lord who created you loves you unconditionally and has wonderful plans and purposes for your life.

We are grateful to be a historically African American church but we want you to know no matter who you are, where you have been or what you have done you are welcome in this place.  No matter your age, your race, your class or culture we embrace you.  We embrace you and pray that if you have not made a decision to be in a relationship with Jesus Christ, you will choose Jesus.  If you know Jesus and walked away from Him, return to Jesus.  And if you do not have a church home to call your own, pray about choosing Asbury.  As in many other places, God is performing great miracles, signs and wonders at Asbury.  Our testimony is awesome and we want the world to know we "waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to us and heard our cry.  He lifted us out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set our feet on a rock and gave us a firm place to stand.  He put a new song in our mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.  Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord."  (Psalm 40:1-3)

This is our story and this is our song.  Because of what the Lord has done, we no longer just speak for ourselves.  With the power of Jesus Christ who cares for all people, we "speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.  We speak up and judge fairly and defend the rights of the poor and needy." (Proverbs 31:8-9)  Whatever you need, God is for you.  God will respond to your needs in ways that are above and beyond what you hoped or desired.  You are not alone.  We are in this life together.  Let us press forward and become who God made us to be and take hold of all the good things God has for us.  Believe it!

I love you,

LaDelle
